Wellness

Wellness is something everyone wants.  But what is this ‘Wellness thing’ and how do we achieve it?

Are drugs the answer to wellness?

The idea that Drugs=Health has been supported wholeheartedly by the medical associations of both Canada and the U.S. to the point that free thinking by physicians is thought of as heresy against the medical profession. The public is taught to improve their health by taking a ‘natural’ remedy that stops their nose from running or laxative to keep them regular. This is insane. We are searching for a cure for symptoms instead of dealing with the fact they are present in the first place. Many don’t realize that Health is more than the absence of symptoms or period between illnesses. Just because you feel OK does not imply your body is working any better or that you’re healthy.  It means you have no symptoms. As a population, we need to start thinking in terms of creating Health and Wellness instead of treating illness.

Your body uses symptoms to tell you how well you arewellness

Health is judged by how your body adapts to both the internal and external environment. It’s created from the inside not a pill, herb or the latest surgical procedure. If a truly healthy body is exposed to some kind of germ or virus it should be able to neutralize the bug without your awareness. But if your body cannot adapt you may get sick. Amazingly, when your body is no longer able to handle such a situation it will ‘talk’ to you in an easily understandable language. These are symptoms. If we want to achieve optimal wellness we must make certain our body is functioning the way it was meant to with no interference. You see, to me, health is a candle lit at birth which burns brightly throughout life. At the end, it flickers once, goes out, and that’s it. You’ve lived the life of your dreams. This is our approach to health and wellness at Family First Chiropractic. Let us help keep you and your loved ones candle  burning strong!
