Health care is on many folk’s minds more than ever these days due to the changes that the US government is making.  I always find that the term “health care” is interesting because actually what most people are concerned with is really “sick” care. For example do you go to your primary care doc because you’re healthy or sick? Americans consume over 80% of the worlds medications however we only make up 4% of the worlds population! So do you think we are a healthy or sick nation?

Medicine, doctors and hospitals are designed to help “sick” people.  That is a good thing.  If I am in a car accident with trauma, take me to the ER; stop the bright red bleeding, which is what medical care was for, trauma on the battlefield. But treating a cold, or injury, or disease is a very different thing than figuring out how to elevate your health to an optimal place.  To me the difference is this…are you a reactive person, or a proactive creator in your life? Do you eat right, exercise and get enough rest? Some people are content dealing with a cold when they get one.  I however, and I think most of you are probably like me, want to get the very most out of my life! I am not satisfied with just not being sick–I want enough energy to be excited to play with my kids at the end of each day, cook dinner and spend some quality time with the family. I want to enjoy my free time, and have energy to exercise, and play, and be my best-all the time!

“Sick” care is good for trauma and illness.  I, on the other hand want health, and you and your family should too.  We are experts in health for you and your family and that is why we call ourselves “Family First!”  We want you to have your best life, and in our opinion health is the most important key in that equation. Here is a thought; you can have it all but if you don’t have your health, what is the point? Keeping a healthy nervous system allows you and your kids to better adapt to stress, to thrive, and create ever higher levels of true health and well being.
