As of May 7th, 2020, according to NYS.gov, 89.5% of the coronavirus deaths have 1 or more of 10 specific health problems that clearly affect their ability to overcome this virus and move on with their lives. The top 3 of these are very common in most American families and make up a significant portion of what makes health care extremely expensive. These conditions result in the most preventable death for the past half century.
These 3 conditions are high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol.
What do medications do?
- Does lowering cholesterol with cholesterol lowering medication work? Yes it does, it lowers your cholesterol.
- Does blood sugar lowering medication work? Yes, it lowers blood sugar.
- Does blood pressure lowering medications work? Yes, they lower blood pressure.
Do any of these medications make you healthier? Well, that depends. If being able to overcome a virus that results in mild to moderate symptoms for most, followed by full recovery. Then no, medications do not make you healthier.
The people diagnosed with these concurrent conditions are taking their medications, they have already been diagnosed, yet they are the most vulnerable to this current problem.
So the answer to the question, ‘what do medications do?’ They lower a marker we recognize as a problem or, more accurately, a symptom (sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol). We can give medication the benefit of the doubt and say that if you take your medication you may extend your life, that may be true. What we CANNOT say is that as a result of taking your medication, you are healthier.
Medications address one biochemical pathway of hundreds or thousands of pathways involved in metabolic diseases.
Medications do not make us healthier, nor do they make it okay to continue behavior that resulted in the life threatening symptoms and ultimately disease in the first place. High blood pressure, high blood sugar or abnormal cholesterol are not diseases, they are signs and symptoms of metabolic derangement. Advanced metabolic derangement is a disease that is so complicated and involves so many bodily functions it’s childish to think that the simple fix is to change the symptom with 2-3 simple medications.
It’s time to wake up and take responsibility. This current coronavirus pandemic is revealing so much about what we once thought to be true and what institutions we can trust. The days of living the standard American lifestyle, taking your medications and believing you are okay, are over. This virus is killing and targeting people who are suffering common, metabolic derangement’s. The top 3 of which are impacting 1 in 3 Americans today. That’s over 110 million people. The sad part is that more than half of those suffering from these 3 conditions are not yet aware they have it.
Prior to 2020, the American medical system had already made the decision to be reactive to the top 10 concurrent medical conditions and not proactive. Prevention is really early detection and treatment. This point is not for debate, it’s a reality.
The doctors who are trained in a natural approach to reversing metabolic derangement and disease are your only hope.
Obviously, chiropractors live and create in this space. We are trained to inspire behavioral and lifestyle change that is meaningful and can result in dramatic changes to entire sets of blood markers and bio-metric data that ACTUALLY measure health and not a single symptom like high blood pressure, high blood sugar and high cholesterol.
It is pertinent to remember that your immune system is controlled by the central nervous system. Chiropractic is specifically focused on improving the health and function and alignment of your central nervous system. This is the main control system of every other part of your body, including your immune function.
Adjustments also significantly reduce the fight or flight stress response which is responsible for turning off your immune system. And we adjust your spine, we stimulate the rest and digest part of your brain which is responsible for controlling immune function.
Please make a decision to improve the strength of the host, your body, so the strength of the virus becomes less important.
